Overview
This course aims at exposing students to the experiences of planning real-life travels to Southeast Asian countries. The students will be asked to read relevant literatures of travel writings, consult travel guides, plan for itinerary details and check out expenses for transportation, meal and lodging etc. of the trips. All literatures, online information and travel plans shall be in English. The travel plans shall focus on the cultural, historical, social and ethnic highlights of each country, including the “dos” and “don’ts” of each country.
Format:
- Lecturing by instructor
- Reading and discussion of literature (whole class)
- Making travel plans (by students, in groups or by individuals)
- In-class presentation of travel plans (by students, in groups or by individuals)
- Final Exam (written test)
